TravelersChoice.is (“we”, “us”, “our”) is a curated Iceland travel marketplace operated by TravelersChoice.is, Reykjavík, Iceland. This policy explains what we collect on this website and how your booking and payment information is handled.

We are not the booking or payment processor. Tours are booked, paid for, and confirmed through our booking provider, Tour Desk ehf. (“TourDesk”). Your booking and payment data are processed by TourDesk and the relevant tour operator under TourDesk’s privacy policy. We never receive or store your payment card details.

What we collect on this website

• Analytics & usage data — via Google Analytics 4 (pages viewed, device and browser type, approximate location, and how you reached the site). This is aggregated and used to improve the site. It is set only with your consent.
• Cookies — essential cookies needed for the site to work, and analytics cookies that are set only if you consent.
• Messages you send us — if you email us, we keep your message and contact details to respond.

We do not collect or store payment card details on this website.

Member accounts

You can optionally create a free member account to unlock member pricing and save your wishlist. When you do, we store:

• Your email and name — to identify your account. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name and email address from Google (we never see your Google password).
• Your marketing preference — whether you chose to receive member deals and travel tips by email. This is off by default, and you can change it at any time.

Account data is stored in our database, hosted in the EU, and is used only to provide your account, member pricing, and any emails you opted into — never for payment, which stays with TourDesk. You can delete your account and all of its data at any time from your account page, or by emailing us. Our legal basis is performing our agreement with you (providing the account) and, for marketing emails, your consent.

Bookings and payments

When you book a tour, the booking and payment are handled by TourDesk through their secure checkout. Your booking details and payment data are processed by TourDesk and the tour operator. We may receive confirmation and attribution data (for example, that a booking was made), but not your card details. Please review TourDesk’s privacy policy for how that data is handled.

Cookies and your choices

Essential cookies are always on because the site needs them to function. Analytics cookies are set only if you accept them via our cookie banner. You can change or withdraw your consent at any time using the “Cookie settings” link in the footer, which reopens the banner. You can also opt out of Google Analytics using Google’s opt-out browser add-on.

Legal basis (GDPR)

We rely on your consent for analytics cookies, and on our legitimate interest in keeping the site secure and improving it. Booking and payment processing is carried out by TourDesk and the operator under their own legal bases.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access, correct, erase, restrict, or port your data, to object to processing, and to withdraw consent. To exercise these rights, email us at booking@travelerschoice.is. You also have the right to complain to the Icelandic Data Protection Authority (Persónuvernd).

We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date above reflects the most recent revision.
