5-Day Iceland Adventure: Golden Circle, South Coast & Volcanoes

This five-day guided tour from Reykjavík takes you through Iceland's most celebrated natural regions, combining the classic Golden Circle route with the South Coast, glacier country, the Snæfellsnes Peninsula, and the volcanic Reykjanes Peninsula.

Day one covers the Golden Circle and South Coast, beginning at Þingvellir National Park — a UNESCO World Heritage Site where the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates meet. From there, visit the Geysir geothermal area and the thundering Gullfoss waterfall before continuing south to Seljalandsfoss, where a path leads behind the cascade itself.

Day two heads east to Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon and Diamond Beach, where glacial icebergs drift ashore. An optional Crystal Ice Cave tour can be added to this day. Day three visits Reynisfjara black sand beach and the towering Skógafoss waterfall.

Day four explores the Snæfellsnes Peninsula, taking in the cliffs of Arnarstapi, Kirkjufell mountain, Djúpalónssandur beach, and the glacier-capped Snæfellsjökull National Park. The final day ventures into the lava fields of the Reykjanes Peninsula, with a hike through Geldingadalur Valley past the Fagradalsfjall and Meradalir volcanoes, and a possible stop at Seltún Hot Springs.
