Hvolsvöllur: Private South Coast & Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon Day Tour

This private full-day tour takes you along Iceland's South Coast to the remote southeast corner of the country, where Europe's largest glacier dominates the landscape. Vatnajökull covers more than 8 percent of Iceland's total landmass — approximately 8,100 km² — making it one of the most impressive ice caps on Earth.

The tour's centrepiece is Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon, a vast glacial lake that formed as the Breiðamerkurjökull glacier began retreating in the 1930s. Today the lagoon continues to grow, filled with drifting icebergs calved directly from the glacier. The scale and stillness of the scene is unlike anywhere else in Iceland.

Beyond the lagoon, the tour also takes in Diamond Beach, where translucent ice fragments wash ashore against black volcanic sand, as well as Fjallsárjökull and the celebrated wilderness area of Skaftafell within Vatnajökull National Park.
