This private full-day tour takes you along Iceland's South Coast in a luxury SUV with a dedicated driver-guide, covering some of the country's most spectacular natural scenery. Departing from Reykjavík with hotel pickup included, you travel through the charming villages of Selfoss, Vík, and Kirkjubæjarklaustur, with a stop at Skógafoss, one of Iceland's most iconic and photographed waterfalls.

The route continues across the vast black-sand desert of Skeiðarársandur, shaped by glacial rivers that carry millions of tons of volcanic sand into the Atlantic each year. Just before the lagoon, you pass beneath Öræfajökull glacier, which cradles Iceland's highest peak, Hvannadalshnjúkur, at 2,119 metres. The tour also takes in Skaftafell and the sweeping ice fields of Vatnajökull.

The centrepiece of the day is Jökulsárlón glacier lagoon, where icebergs in shades of blue, turquoise, and white drift silently across mirror-still water. You will have time to walk the shoreline, photograph the surreal formations, and soak in one of Iceland's most extraordinary natural wonders. Between May and September, an optional amphibious boat cruise among the icebergs is available at an additional cost.

The itinerary is subject to weather and road conditions. Warm, layered, waterproof clothing and sturdy footwear are strongly recommended.

Your tour begins with a hotel pickup in the Reykjavík capital area. Travelling in a private luxury SUV, your driver-guide leads you south along the coast, stopping at Skógafoss waterfall before continuing through the villages of Selfoss, Vík, and Kirkjubæjarklaustur.

The journey crosses the dramatic black-sand expanse of Skeiðarársandur, where glacial rivers have sculpted a vast volcanic desert. You pass Öræfajökull glacier and reach Skaftafell before arriving at Jökulsárlón glacier lagoon. Here you have free time to walk the shores and photograph the drifting icebergs up close.

Between May and September, an optional amphibious boat cruise is available on the lagoon at an additional cost, offering an even closer encounter with the ice formations. The tour runs year-round. Terrain can be uneven, so sturdy footwear is essential. The full experience lasts approximately 12 hours.
