The tour begins at Þingvellir National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site where Iceland's first parliament was established in 930 AD. Here, the Silfra Fissure cuts between the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates, offering up to 100 metres of underwater visibility in glacially filtered freshwater. Dressed in a warm dry suit, you'll drift weightlessly through vivid blue channels and past extraordinary rock formations.
After snorkeling, the Golden Circle portion of the day continues to the Geysir geothermal area, where the original spouting hot spring erupts up to 25 metres into the air — the phenomenon that gave all geysers their name. The route then leads to Gullfoss, the thundering 'Golden Waterfall', where glacial meltwater cascades down layered lava steps with raw, elemental force.
